It's Friday and time to Celebrate The Small Things (or big things) that happened this week.
Been awfully quiet here at the blog lately. I've been busy going over the comments and corrections from my editor for a thriller novella coming out in the spring. Lots of other projects to work on too. I've been playing with yWriter (a free alternative to Scrivner) and imported several projects into it. As the length of my stories grows, management becomes more of an issue. I have lots of ideas for blog posts. Even have notes for some, but it's a lot easier to think about them than to actually write them.
Lots of writerly items to celebrate over the past few weeks. Coffin Hop was fun and a great success. Give Me Your Teeth: A Fae Tale has been launched and I'm very thankful for all my writer friends who have offered reviews. You can't succeed in any endeavor without good friends. Readers seem to like the story, so I'm planning a sequel. (You'll find out why the Tooth Fairies need sharp teeth.) I also finished proofing the audio version of Last Request, which should be available on audible soon. It snowed here on Thursday and it was a very considerate snow, neatly sticking to the yards but not the pavement, as it should be.
And there's still time to enter my contest for Last Request (details here). A $20 Amazon gift card is up for grabs.
Keep writing and keep hoping. What are you celebrating this week?

I only work on one project at a time, so easy for me to manage that. I don't lack for blog post topics though.
ReplyDeleteEnvy your snow.
Thanks for the info on yWriter. That other program is way expensive. The Coffin Hop sounded like fun. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff - good to see your post for this blog hop. Last week only 16 of 47 blogs participated. Not a lot of congratulations going on but the things shared were so interesting and simple. Life at it's best is just simple, I think. Congratulations on getting that big writing project completed. Time for a breath of air before chasing the next one.
ReplyDeleteWhat am I celebrating? Hey - you're just a blog hop away from seeing it for yourself! I have four things!! One involves a turkey! C'mon over and say hello.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for sharing yWriter - I've been thinking I need to get into something like that to manage my projects. Like Alex, I have some snow envy, and I'm looking forward to seeing some in December (although even then I'll have to drive to it).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your project work!
I've never tried Scrivner, but I think I'll check out yWriter. Thanks! Also, I know what you mean about it being easier to think of blog ideas than to actually write them. I have a list planned for all of my blog posts next year, but writing them take a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on releasing "Give Me Your Teeth" - I loved it! Yes, write a sequel please. Congrats also on the upcoming one. I have this weird thing about not pre-writing posts (well, maybe 12 hrs ahead). I just blurt out whatever I'm feeling at that moment. lol
ReplyDeleteKeep writing and keep hoping! Indeed the cure to stagnancy, right? Happy Friday!

I've never even tried Scrivener, but a bit of order in my life would be a nice addition! Congrats on your short story!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a steady internet connection since arriving in Bucerias Nov 1st. I'm actually amazed at how well I'm taking this. I guess sporadic service is better than none. Not accomplishing much yet, but I'm going to. Thanks for supporting my blog, Jeff. You are a true gentleman.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Teeth a lot, so looking forward to that sequel. Sounds like you're keeping admirably busy.
