  1. My favorite is a classic: "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. But "Morphine and Chocolate" would be a close second...

  4. My favorite creepy story is "It's a Good Life" by Jerome Bixby, which was adapted into a classic Twilight Zone episode.
